The Project
This unique project consists of a single-storey home with three bedrooms and a wildflower green roof. Built with SIP panels from Bucovina SIP, the house is fully carbon-neutral, sustainable and modern, with a BREEAM "Excellent" certification and annual energy bills estimated at just 150 euros.

The Challenges
The client wanted a fully carbon-neutral home that would be energy efficient and self-sustaining. A green roof with a load of 140 kg/m² and an airtight structure were needed to minimise heat loss. In addition, the challenging site, tucked away behind residential buildings, called for a build with minimal impact on the neighbours.
The BucovinaSIP Solution
To meet the client's goals, we designed a complete SIP panel kit using top-quality materials:
- Exterior walls: 169 mm SIP panels for excellent insulation
- Roof: 194 mm SIP panels to support a green roof and 3.2 kW solar panels
- Mechanical ventilation: Heat recovery system for fresh air and humidity control
- Heat source: A 4 kW air-to-water heat pump with 300% efficiency
Prefabricated SIP panel construction significantly reduced noise and build time, delivering minimal impact on neighbours and material savings.
The Results
The house has become an example of excellence in sustainable construction. The green roof and solar panels generated 20% more energy than the house's annual consumption. Annual energy costs were cut by 94%, and the client was delighted with the quality and efficiency of the project:
